The aim of the school is to train qualified employees for tourism and hospitality industry who are educated with theoretical and practical professional knowledge and have ability to speak at least two foreign languages. Vocational Training School of Tourism and Hotel Management which began to function in the academic year of 1999-2000 has 3 educational programs. These are;

1- Food and Beverage Management Program
2- Tourism and Hotel Management Program
3- Tourism Guidance Program

Instructional Medium

The school has modern educational areas and instructional medium. There are six classrooms and full equipped workshops for food and beverage service, front office, computer, housekeeping and food production lessons. Besides, the students of the school have the possibility to use the computer labs of the university.

Social, Cultural and Sportive Activities

The school gives a large number of possibility for students for varied social, cultural and sportive activities. At present, lots of our students take an active part in the sports, music, dancing activities and they also organize some events for the tourism club of the university. In order to make students closer to industry, Vocational School of Tourism and Hotel Management organizes some excursions for students to hotel enterprises in Bishkek such as `Hyatt Regency`, `Hotel Pinara`, `Hotel Dostuk` and others. In addition to all, some of the successful students are sent to summer and winter camps which have been organized by the university.

In April 2003, in order to introduce the Kyrgyz national food, The Contest of Kyrgyz National Cuisine has been organized by school. It is also planned to publish a book of the receipts of some Kyrgyz dishes which take place in the best positions in the contests in Kyrgyz, Turkish, Russian and English languages.

Beside the two years educational programs, Vocational School of Tourism and Hotel Management also organizes certification programs with the aim of developing of tourism sector in Kyrgyzstan. During two weeks of each month of the academic year, these certification courses are held up in the specification for Food and Beverage Service, Front Office and Food Production staff. Beginning from the year of 2000, totally 333 certificates were given to successful participants who attended these certification programs.
